Lake Jocassee is tucked into the shadows of the blue ridge mountains is one of the most scenic lakes in the country with a back drop of mountains and the several waterfalls that pour into the lake. The valley where the lake is located was once home to 4 mighty rivers. The Thompson, Whitewater, Horsepasture and Toxaway rivers now all feed Lake Jocassee producing a cool and clear reservoir. Surrounded by over 50,000 acres of protected State land Lake Jocassee is sure to keep the majestic views that enjoy today. Lake Jocassee has 7,500 acres of water and 75 miles of shoreline. The dam that produced the lake is 385 feet high and 1,750 feet long.
