Lake Jocassee is tucked into the shadows of the Blue Ridge Mountains is one of the most scenic lakes in the country with a back drop of mountains and the several waterfalls that pour into the lake. The valley where the lake is located was once home to 4 mighty rivers. The Thompson, Whitewater, Horsepasture and Toxaway rivers now all feed Lake Jocassee producing a cool and clear reservoir. The dam that produced the lake is 385 feet high and 1,750 feet long.
