Marian is a ‘front-end Baby Boomer’ who grew up on a farm in Walton County, GA, now the exurbs of Atlanta.  Growing up, she was very actively involved in  4-H  Clubs, and the 4-H motto, “To Make The Best Better,” was imprinted into her and has become one of her personal credos.

Her interest in real estate began when she was a full time college student in the Atlanta, GA area.  She was offered a scholarship to real estate school to become a real estate agent for a local brokerage.  Her plate was full with college, work and family, so she declined, with the intention of eventually being actively involved in real estate.  Due to her career, she was still quite involved in residential and commercial acquisitions and sales, and property management and leasing.

Following her education she had a very diverse and rewarding career for over thirty years in the electric utility and construction industries as well as business consulting.  She held numerous executive positions, culminating in CEO of an ancillary services subsidiary accountable for the human resources, finance & accounting, purchasing, information systems, and marketing divisions.  She gained expertise in all of these areas as well as training in contract administration and negotiating which have proven invaluable to both Marian and her real estate clients.

Marian and her husband Tom have many wonderful memories of the weekend lake home they built and enjoyed for many years.  When they sold it in the mid nineties, they vowed to return to the lake when they retired.  However, the sudden death of a dear friend caused a priority shift, and they decided to return to the lakes before retirement to live full time, since we ‘never know what tomorrow may bring.’  They have been in their “fifth final home” for six years now.

Her family includes a daughter, Dana, and two sons, Chuck & Clay, all married and living in IL, GA, and SC respectively.  She is known as “Mommare” to 2 grandsons and 3 granddaughters, ranging in age from newborn to eight years old.  A knee replacement caused a re-shift from snow skiing and tennis.  Marian now enjoys golf, waverunning, boating, bridge and travel in her leisure time.

Marian is in her 4th year as a licensed Realtor® and is delighted with her ‘final’ career.  She is licensed in South Carolina and Georgia, and holds the coveted GRI® and ABR® designations.  In addition, she has received additional training from The Realtors Land Institute on “Tax Deferred Real Property Exchanges.”  She has extensive relocation training and assisted relocating employees when her husband’s employer relocated from Westchester County, NY to Pickens County, SC.  She has done additional training on resort and recreational properties.

Her personal and business benchmarks are based upon integrity, honesty and fairness.  With her background she brings a depth and breadth of expertise not found elsewhere.  Her clients’ best interests are always at heart, and she is determined to meet or exceed their expectations.
